Principal Certifier FAQ

Common questions from owners and builders.

When do I need to appoint a Principal Certifier?
For most building and subdivision projects, a Principal Certifier is appointed before construction begins so inspections and compliance can be managed from the start.
What happens at critical stage inspections?
The certifier inspects key construction stages and records compliance against approved plans and relevant requirements before works proceed to the next stage.
Do you prepare Development Applications (DA)?
No — PROCERT does not provide DA preparation services. We focus on certification, compliance and inspections, including CDC/CC/OC and Principal Certifier services.
Can you help if I already have approvals in place?
Yes. If you already have a CDC or a DA/CC pathway underway, we can advise on the Principal Certifier process, inspection timing and what documentation is typically required for completion.
